Alternative Assignment

  1. Photo number one is taken from the side and taken at a lower angle. You could take this photo a couple ways if you were at the zoo. The way I would go about taking this is probably to start with going to where I could get my lenses where they wouldn’t be covered. Once I found that spot I would kinda tap the glass or do something to get the tiger’s attention. Then as soon as the tiger starts to turn its head I’ll take a couple pictures and pick the best one.
  2. The second picture would be kinda tricky. This picture is taken up close and straight ahead. If I had to take this picture I think the best way would be to be in the cage or same area as the elephant. Just because of how close the photo is. I would also have to be on some sort of higher level just so I can get to the elephant’s eye. Once I get there I feel like taking this photo would go pretty smoothly.
  3. The third photo is photograph is taken from behind and slightly upwards. It would probably be one of the easier photos to take of a tiger. Let’s say that this tiger is in a glass-type of cage. I would start with turning off my flash and going to the back side of the tank or the Tiger is not facing me. Once I do that I think it would be pretty straightforward to take this picture. If I would change everything about this photo it would be the lighting because lighting makes the photo look very gummy.
  4. The fourth photo is taken from a higher ground and it’s just slightly to the side. If I were to take this photo I feel like it would be zoomed in a little more. I also would wait until the animal was not looking toward me just because it adds a little more mystery to everything. But overall I like the lighting and I would make sure that I had a little background just like in the photo you can see.
  5. The fifth photo is taken straight on and very close to the nose of the giraffe. It makes the photo have a very cute feel. At the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, I feel like this photo would be extremely easy to take. All you really needed was some food to kind of get the giraffe to come over to you. Then at that point, you’re already at the direct eye level so it wouldn’t be hard just to snap a picture up close to the nose.
  6. The last and final photo is the sixth photo. This photo is taken from above. I feel like if I had to take this photo I would probably start with trying to get to higher ground. Then I would get on one knee to make sure that I’m getting the right angle to show how many there are. And then I can get a couple of pictures and pick the best one out of all of them.

Lightroom.

I started by cropping the photo down. After I cropped it I wanted to change up the lighting. I turned exposure down to -0.72, then contrast to +38, highlight down to -38, and shadows down to -100. After that I moved on to effects, I moved texture to +29 and dehaze up +44. I think this made my photo better because it makes it look like an old abandoned chair. I also love how the shadowing adds so much depth to this photo.
